About the Pre-School
Gorefield Pre-school is located in the semi-rural village of Gorefield just on the out skirts of Wisbech. Our building was purpose built, and has disable access for both children and parents. Our aims are to enhance the development and education of children under the statutory school age in a parent involving community group. we work in partnership with parents to help children learn and develop, in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. Our group offers children and their parents a service that provides equality and values diversity
we Currently have 31 children on roll aged between 2 and 4 years, the majority of our children are white British, with 3% being from other minority ethnic groups, 10% are from the travelling community, 16% access the 2 year funding, There are 17 boys and 14 girls children on our register, 19% are summer born girls, 32% are summer born boys.
we have no SEN (special educational needs) and no ELA (English as an addition language)

Staff at Gorefield preschool are delighted that they have achieved an Outstanding in all areas grade, in their OFSTED inspection on the 23rd May 2018.

We offer a warm welcome to all children, parents and carers to our group. We encourage parents to take an active role in our committee-run pre-school, and in turn become part of our small rural village community.
Children in our care: Create, Explore, Imagine and Learn in a happy, safe and nurturing environment. They are encouraged to be individuals and develop their skills and knowledge based on their own learning characteristics.
We provide a broad range of educational opportunities and facilitate experiences that enrich each child's: social, emotional, physical, intellectual, cognitive and creative abilities.
We aim to support each child's uniqueness and individuality and provide a diverse, vibrant programme as they work towards common goals within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We understand how important a child's first steps are in their academic journey and how this is the basis for all future learning. Our pre-school is a place where children are supported through planned and spontaneous play. We promote educational learning skills irrespective of gender, cultural background or disability.
We build on existing personal and social skills to help children become confident and responsible. Children in our pre-school are given a sense of belonging where they can build friendships and feel valued as an individual. We support them in learning respect, teamwork and equality.
We take children from the age of 2 years. Funding for 15 hours and 30 hours is available for 3 and 4 year olds and families on low income and/or other criteria may be eligible for 15 hours funding for children aged 2.
Our group believes in striving towards improvement and believe that this is represented by our reflective practice and parent involvement.
