Pre - school Deputy Manager - november 2021

.We are a small committee run Pre-School looking for a new deputy manager to help shape and implement our future vision. This is an amazing job for someone with previous managerial and leadership experience who is keen on building a team, raising standards across the setting and leading the Preschool team to offer a great school start for the children in their care. You will need to have at least a level 3 child care qualification and 2 years of experience working in the sector. This is a term time only post. Purpose of the job: To work as the Deputy Manager, to provide high quality education and care for young children and to maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment. To be a key person to a group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and provided for. Ideally you will have some specialist training in SEND. Main Duties: To help with the day to day running of the Pre-School meets statutory requirements of the EYFS curriculum and provides a safe environment for children and staff. To work with the staff team to meet the requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, including assisting during the inspection of the Pre-School by Ofsted. To assist in managing the play assistants in a positive and supportive manner with regular supervisions and appraisals. To encourage their professional development and organise relevant training. To plan and implement purposeful play through a mix of adult-led and child-initiated activities. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation, meeting the individual needs of each child. To act as a key person to a group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and When the manager is off, to advise the Management Committee of any concerns, which include safeguarding children and child protection, parents/carers, safety of the environment, upholding confidentiality as necessary. To be aware of any special educational needs and disabilities a child may have, supporting them sensitively and appropriately and in accordance with any Individual Plans in place. To work in accordance with the settings policies and procedures. To assist with regular staff meetings. To attend training courses and meetings as required. To maintain confidentiality in line with the settings Confidentiality Policy at all times. To keep up-to-date with current good practice and changes in legislation. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Manager, in accordance with the Pre-School’s objectives.
